Keystone app icon

Keystone

1.4.0

Added

  • Each tap key can now jump to a specific input source instead of cycling. Pick any enabled source per key in Settings, e.g. left ⌘ for ABC and right ⌘ for 2-Set Korean. Existing tap settings carry over as "Next input source".

Changed

  • Settings redesigned in the system's grouped style, with section headers, rounded boxes, and switches like Xcode's settings.
1.3.0

Added

  • Tap a ⌘ or ⌥ key on its own to switch the input source. Choose left, right, or both sides of each in Settings. Every shortcut using the key keeps working, since a lone press-and-release is the whole gesture.
  • Watching for that tap is the one Keystone feature that observes keys, so it asks for the Input Monitoring permission, and only once it's turned on.

Fixed

  • Settings panes now scroll when their content is taller than the window.
1.2.1
  • Spotlight now finds the app by its Korean name and by what it does: 키스톤, 한영 전환, 한영키, 캡스락, and caps lock all match.
1.2.0
  • Settings is now two panes: the Caps Lock toggle, destination key, and the Keyboard Settings shortcut moved to their own Remapping pane in the sidebar, leaving General to launch-at-login, the menu bar icon, and updates.
  • The version and build number under Check for Updates now show in development builds too (as "Version dev").
1.1.0

Added

  • The menu bar icon can be hidden (Settings › General). While hidden, launching Keystone again opens Settings, and the app appears in the Dock only while the Settings window is open, the same arrangement as its siblings.

Fixed

  • ⌘W, ⌘Q, and ⌘, now work in the Settings window: the accessory app was missing the main menu that dispatches key equivalents.
1.0.7
  • The icon's arch now declares a blur material like its siblings, keeping the frosted-glass treatment consistent across appearances.
1.0.6
  • The dark-mode icon lost its glass entirely. The previous fix dimmed the arch image instead of declaring materials. The icon document now declares real Liquid Glass (specular highlights and a translucent frosted arch under the solid keystone), so every appearance keeps the glassy look.
1.0.5
  • The dark-mode app icon rendered the arch as a near-opaque slab; it now carries the suite's translucent-glass alpha and reads as frosted glass against the dark fill.
1.0.4
  • Raised the icon's arch: the keystone's narrow protrusion doesn't read as the glyph's top edge, so the ring itself is now what sits optically centered.
1.0.3
  • New brand color: terracotta, the fired brick of the Roman arches that gave the keystone its job, replacing the amber that sat too close to its sibling Transom.
  • The icon's arch is now optically centered, its voussoir seams cut the flanks into equal stones, and impost seams mark where the arc meets the legs.
1.0.2
  • Quitting Keystone now clears the mapping and returns Caps Lock to stock macOS behavior. The remap is active exactly while the app runs, so what you see in the menu bar is the whole story. Launch at login keeps switching seamless across restarts. (A force-quit can't clean up after itself. The next launch, toggle, or reboot does.)
1.0.1
  • The Caps Lock mapping was installed on every HID service in the system, including the Apple vendor services that translate the keyboard's fn row into brightness/volume events, which silently broke those keys (and apps driven by them, such as Transom) until the mapping was cleared, even after quitting Keystone. The mapping is now scoped to actual keyboard services, and enabling, disabling, or re-asserting the remap first sweeps away the stray mappings older versions left behind.
1.0.0
  • Initial release: Caps Lock rerouted to a spare function key (F19 by default, F13–F20 selectable) inside macOS's HID system, for instant input-source switching with none of Caps Lock's built-in delay, and no process ever touching a keystroke.
  • The mapping is re-asserted automatically after sleep and whenever a keyboard (re)connects, so Bluetooth keyboards can't shake it off.
  • First-run onboarding walks through the one manual step: binding "Select next source in Input menu" to the rerouted key in System Settings.
  • Menu bar toggle, Settings with launch at login and destination-key choice, and Sparkle auto-updates.
